Seubert hosted the first Rich Seubert Youth Football Camp for more than 330 incoming third- through sixth-grade kids from across the state.

"This is really a day for them to come out and have some fun," said Joe Baierl, Columbus Youth Football commissioner.

The 21/2-hour camp featured eight stations where kids could play touch football, go through an obstacle course or work on kicking, blocking, running, tackling, passing and catching.

Youth football New York Giants jerseys coaches from such places as Stratford and Auburndale helped kids work on their skills.

Columbus sent out 1,700 invitations to students from schools including Eau Claire, Green Bay, Wausau, Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point.

Logan Carmichael, 11, of Marshfield, a fan of Seubert, said the best thing he learned at the camp was how to run and take positions.

"I play for Marshfield Tigers Youth Football," Logan said. "It's just something I want to get better at."

Seubert said the point of the event was to get the kids outside, away from video games.

"This is great, and a lot of them are getting into the game of football," Seubert said. "But if they learn anything today, it's to hustle and try hard."

It's anyone's ballgame in the NFC East this season.

Washington has a new coach, Philadelphia starts a new era without McNabb, and Dallas looks like they're ready to play.

The Giants jerseys know this and understand that every game against one of these teams is critical if they are serious about winning the division.

Of course, games played against non-divisional opponents cannot be taken lightly either.

Just as football games are won in the trenches, divisional titles are won during the less-hyped, non divisional games.
